Southwest Las Vegas is located west of The Strip and south of Charleston Blvd. It is growing at a rapid pace along with the rest of the Las Vegas Valley. There are several luxury home developments including Spanish Trail Country Club, Red Rock Country Club, Peccole Ranch, The Lakes and Queensridge. At the southern end you can find more luxurious developments including Southern Highlands, which is an exclusive new country club in Las Vegas.
Closer to The Strip are well established beautiful neighborhoods with ranch and tudor styled homes that were built in the 1960's. The communities in this area are the Scotch 80's, Rancho Bel Air and McNeill Estates. These communities are very different than the typical red tile roof homes in the rest of Las Vegas.
There are many new apartment complexes in Southwest Las Vegas. This is where many families live when they are new to Las Vegas.
Since Southwest Las Vegas is so close to The Strip, much of the business activity is center around the Casinos. Much of the shopping in the area revolves around the shopping areas around The Strip.
